About Google Search Console

Google Search Console is a free service from Google that helps you monitor, maintain and troubleshoot your site's presence in Google Search. The performance report shows which queries bring users to your site, with impressions, clicks and position. Other reports cover index coverage, sitemaps, Core Web Vitals, rich results and links, and the URL Inspection tool gives crawl, index and serving details for any page. Google emails site owners when it finds issues. The service launched in 2006 as Google Webmaster Tools and was renamed Google Search Console in May 2015.

🏆 Pros & Cons 4.5/5

Google Search Console is the one SEO tool every site should use: it is free and it is the only source of Google's own search data for your site. It tells you nothing about competitors, so most teams use it alongside a paid research tool.

✓ URL Inspection shows how Google crawls and indexes a page

✓ Email alerts when Google finds issues
